I have been creating hand-printed serigraphs of landscapes and other related subjects for over 20 years now. Captured moments in nature, large skies, distant mountains and textured foregrounds predominate my imagery. My art is a way of sharing the experiences from my travels through the endless beauty of the wide open spaces,seasonal textures
of the land and sky. I love color, simple shapes, and the physical aspects of creating my art. The cutting, printing and the actual medium of screen printing seems well suited for that. It’s still exciting to lift the screen and see the colors build on each other.

Serigraphy or more commonly known as screen printing, is basically a stencil making process. It became widely accepted as a fine art form in the 1950’s. Screen printing creates a unique type of art with a smooth, satin-like surface quality that’s almost impossible to create with any other technique. I hand-cut stencils for each color, sometimes requiring 25-40 different stencils and screen set-ups for each image.

I usually
have two or three different projects going on at the same time, and I find it
helps me solve problems with one image or another, and it just keeps things
flowing along. It takes between one and three months to finish each image.The editions are very short and limited to usually less than 40 toal images and are never reprinted or reproduced again. So, unlike a computer generated or other mechanically reproduced art
each piece is an original, handmade work of art.
